invisible Pain

She stands by the corner shop
Looking for a charitable gaze
A compassionate link in the human chain
They are bellowing slogans
Their voices reaching the heavens ,
Yet not brushing their hearts.
Hearts that are devoid
Of charity and sympathy,
They pass by her
Not noticing her pinched lips and barefoot
Covered by tattered clothes,
Their loud voices drown her Silent voice
So she still waits by the corner shop
