The Souvenir

They declared it was a war,
They declared it a victory,
It’s a matter of our pride
Its matter of setting things right they say,
Their victory and pride is defined
By standing on her remains.
In their passion for victory,
Passion for subjugation,
They forgot to ask her,
Her thoughts, her needs,
Her wants and dreams and passion,
She is just a trophy
Just another mark of victory
To be paraded around
As a souvenir of their right and might
And others wrongs.
